Testifying

Now that Bible literalism is more or less officially a litmus test for the GOP nomination (and close to that for the Democratic nomination), I do hope we've heard the last comment asking why we're concerned with the literal meaning of the Good Book.
CNN, shockingly, required the candidates at the recent Republican debate to answer a videotaped question from a voter holding a Christian edition of the Bible, who said: "How you answer this question will tell us everything we need to know about you. Do you believe every word of this book? Specifically, this book that I am holding in my hand, do you believe this book?"

"a Christian edition of the Bible". As opposed to what, the Jefferson Bible?

As opposed to, for example, the Hebrew Bible. Which doesn't have the "New" Testament or Deuterocanononical Books.

It probably didn't have the Book of Jubilees, or Book of Enoch either. So its unlikely to be considered "Christian" in Ethiopia, for example.

The question was "...specifically this book [he was] holding in [his] hand". So what exactly was in the specific book he was holding. Was it the bible? Or just a book with the bible's cover over it? Harry Potter for example.

Maybe it was a Koran with a Bible cover?
